Jim Ross Gives An Update On His Cancer Recovery

AEW commentator Jim Ross has said his oncologist is “very pleased” with his progress since beating skin cancer.

In October 2021, JR made his cancer diagnosis public and spent two months away from AEW before returning, cancer-free, in late December.

Speaking on his ‘Grillin’ JR’ podcast, the legendary commentator gave an update on his condition:

“I had my return visit to the oncologist. He was very pleased with the progress of my cancer. My next appointment is in six months just to check in. He was very pleased with how this thing is healing.

“It’s still tender, but I’ve got new skin down there. My ankle is like a little baby’s ankle.

“He said, ‘You’re still cancer-free. You’re good enough that we can wait six months and then we’ll check you out.’ He said, ‘I’m doing that just as a precaution and I don’t expect anything bad to be there in six months’, so I’m happy about that.”

JR will be around this Sunday to commentate at AEW Revolution.
