Jinder Mahal and CM Punk may have a common enemy in Seth Rollins, but the modern-day Maharajah has mixed emotions about Punk’s return.
CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 in his first appearance in front of the WWE Universe since January 2014.
Speaking to Gaelyn Mendonca of “WWE India,” Mahal was asked for his take on Punk’s return to the promotion. He said,
“So, I’ve mixed emotions. The fan in me is excited for CM Punk’s return. I’m excited for the matches, I’m excited to get in the ring with CM Punk. But, I do see Seth’s [Rollins] point because I was there when CM Punk was in WWE last time and Seth also has a point. Nonetheless, let’s see what CM Punk does, let’s see his attitude, let’s see his reactions, you know. Let’s see if he offers the opportunities to the younger superstars, let’s see.”
Mahal will challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on tomorrow’s episode of RAW in a match that has infuriated AEW President Tony Khan.
Should Rollins retain, CM Punk intends to challenge Rollins at WrestleMania 40. Punk has been declared for this month’s Men’s Royal Rumble match.
