On Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite/ Fyter Fest Night 2, Lance Archer successfully won the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship after defeating Jon Moxley. The match was a Texas Deathmatch, and ended brutally as Archer chokeslammed Moxley onto two barbed wire covered boards.
Despite the brutality, after the match Moxley would show the respect he holds for Archer, handing him the championship belt, and raises Archer’s hand. You can see their interaction below:

This match marks the beginning of Archer’s second IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship reign. His first reign began in 2019, lasting 83 days before he lost the title to Jon Moxley at Wrestle Kingdom 14.
During the episode of AEW Dynamite, it was also revealed that Archer will defend his championship against NJPW star Hikuleo next week.
