AEW World Champion Jon Moxley is sticking with the company for at least five more years after signing a contract extension last week. According to a report from Wrestling Observer Radio, Moxley had worked nearly three months without a signed contract before eventually re-signing with the company in October.
Moxley’s last contract expired likely between July 16th and July 22nd. Dave Meltzer added that Moxley had no intention of leaving for WWE or using the prospect of doing so during negotiations. AEW and Moxley had “certain things” they needed to clarify before eventually agreeing on a new deal.
The report also noted that the announcement of Moxley re-signing with the company was to offset the negative backstage drama from the last several weeks in AEW.
