The fourth season of Lucha Underground finished up on the El Rey Network on Wednesday night. Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the show is in a holding pattern as the TV network just named Mauricio Rios as its new Vice President of programming and acquisitions, replacing Dan Kozlowski, who was the guy who made the call to continue to keep Lucha Underground around.
If you recall, once Lucha Underground lost its key investors after season three, it was El Rey who made the call to finance another season. The only thing that the network wanted in return was that the season needed to be taped in a short period of time and on a lower budget.
Now with a new person in charge, things are said to be up in the air regarding the future of the show.
