As many of you know, Matt Cardona defeated Nick Gage in a deathmatch back in July to win the GCW World Championship. Following the match, Cardona was pelted with trash and bottles by the fans in attendance. Just last week, Cardona wound up losing the GCW title to Jon Moxley.
During a recent Q&A on Twitter, Cardona responded to a fan and said he has retired from working deathmatches. He said,
“I have retired from Death Match Wrestling.”
