Considered to be one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time, Matt Hardy has competed across the globe in his 30-year-long career. A 14-time world tag team champion, Hardy is equally impressive as a singles competitor and has won a plethora of prestigious singles titles across major promotions.

On his “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast, the 48-year-old decorated wrestler revealed why he never had the opportunity to capture the WWE Intercontinental Championship despite winning the United States Title, ECW Title, European Title as well as the Hardcore Title. Hardy said,

“The Intercontinental title had so much amazing WWE/WWF history. I would guess probably just, more than anything like, wrong place, wrong time. I was probably on the opposite brand or, you know, in some different program. I was just never booked in a strong Intercontinental Title program that would have worked [with] a blowoff match with me winning.”
