WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has shed some light on why he was chosen to induct Stacy Keibler into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Last month, Foley informed his fans that he had been contacted by someone regarding an induction, which turned out to be the former WWE Diva.
On his “Foley is Pod” podcast, Mick explained why the odd pairing of the Hardcore Legend and the former WCW Nitro Girl wasn’t strange at all. He said,
“It’s just a really nice friendship and I think a deep mutual respect.
“I wasn’t lying when I talked about how happy I was [to get the text to induct her], and how I had a perpetual smile on my face because I always thought the world of Stacy.”
The three-time WWE Champion added that Keibler is a “spectacular person” who transformed herself from a superfan into a performer.
Foley and fellow WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson traded kind sentiments about Keibler before Stacy gave her acceptance speech last week.
