As we reported earlier tonight here on eWn, The Forgotten Sons’ Steve Cutler has been released from WWE. According to a report from Fightful, Cutler had heat on him from Vince McMahon after the SmackDown Superstar contracted COVID-19 in early January. According to reports, Cutler and Wesley Blake had been trying to return to television, but it didn’t happen and WWE made the call to fire him today.
Cutler had recently been working out at the WWE Performance Center, and was willing to bump for the Performance Center’s “big men”. He was also said to have been well-liked by many of the trainees.
WWE sources are saying the “door is open” for him to return down the line.
Following his release, Cutler took to Twitter to react. You can check out his tweet below:
Unfortunately, today I was released. It was shocking, to say the least. But, I am excited about the future and all the possibilities in front of me.
Thanks for your continued support.
90 days… the countdown begins🍻🍻
