Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Vince McMahon nixed Pat McAfee’s Throwback SmackDown segment because he thought McAfee’s impression of a young Vince McMahon “looked stupid.”
McAfee impersonated McMahon from his announcing days, but the segment was nixed at the last minute.
The segment was pulled by McMahon himself because he felt like McAfee didn’t look or sound like a young Vince. He thought it looked stupid, and was comical in the wrong way.
McMahon was open to the idea of the segment, but he felt like instead of what he was looking for, which was a parody of himself, McAfee brought a parody of a parody.
