Nick Aldis Wants More Matches With WWE’s Cody Rhodes

Could a possible rematch with Cody Rhodes cause Nick Aldis to sign with WWE now that his NWA contract is coming to an end?

Earlier this month, Aldis confirmed that he will leave the NWA when his contract expires, and has been outspoken against company President Billy Corgan.

In 2018, Aldis lost the NWA World Championship to Cody Rhodes at All In, which would serve as a catalyst to AEW being founded in January 2019.

Speaking about the American Nightmare on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Aldis says he’s hopeful for a rematch.

“We brought out the best in each other … Immediately, we were going like, ‘Maybe we could do a trilogy.’ That was obviously the intent, but obviously, things happened where he left Ring of Honor.

“I would hope [there is time for another match down the road with Cody and me]. I think there’s time for more than one.”

Aldis would regain the NWA World Championship from Rhodes the following month, and their record is tied with one win each.
