New Japan Pro Wrestling President Takami Ohbari was recently interviewed by Tokyo Sports and discussed the possibility of putting on another AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event in the future. He said,
“There are still fighters and cards I would like to see. I would like to see a continuation of this event.
“I think there is a need to see this event in Japan. The 50th anniversary year is a good opportunity to make that happen. I think there are fighters [from AEW] who would like to compete in front of Japanese fans.”
For what it’s worth, AEW President Tony Khan revealed during the post-AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media scrum that he’s also interested in doing another joint event.
