According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter
, the original plan for Jon Moxley at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door had him participating in the 6-man tag match that now includes Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta, and Shota Umino taking on Chris Jericho, Minoru Suzuki & Sammy Guevara. Umino is included because he would have been teaming with his storyline mentor, Moxley. It’s unknown which member of the babyface team replaced Moxley when plans changed.Prior to CM Punk’s injury, the original main event was going to be Punk vs Tanahashi.
