A deal between Marvel and AAA to produce an exciting new series for Disney+ has seemingly fallen through.
The series would have seen Lucha wrestling with characters resembling popular Marvel staples including Captain America, Spider-Man, Thanos, and Venom.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that the show’s air date has passed and there are no talks about the show being premiered at a later date. He wrote,
“A few months back they announced that Disney+ would debut the Marvel Lucha Libre series starting on 12/21. Obviously, something fell through since that day has come and gone and nothing has been said in a while regarding that subject.”
Marvel’s Lucha Libre-themed project was first revealed in October of this year, with talent set to come from AAA.
