According to a new report from Sports Business Daily, the XFL, which is set to make its return in 2020, is reportedly in negotiations with both the FOX and ESPN networks regarding the broadcast rights to their league. The site claims that the league and both networks are currently “deep in discussions.”

The report also claims that numerous XFL games would air on ABC if ESPN gets the rights as both ABC and ESPN are owned by Disney and co-promote many of their games and big events, such as the NBA and the X-Games. The ABC Network does not currently feature any NFL games.

It should be noted that FOX will become the new home of Vince McMahon’s WWE SmackDown! Live broadcast beginning this October and the network is reportedly pushing more heavily into airing live programming following the sale of FOX Television as part of the FOX/Disney deal.

We’ll keep you posted here on eWrestlingNews.com as we hear more but there are rumors that a TV deal could be announced as early as next week.
