WWE Day 1 2023 has reportedly been canceled by the promotion, which comes after reports that the show would change dates. WWE held its first Day 1 event this year on January 1, which saw Brock Lesnar capture the WWE Championship in the main event.
According to Wrestlenomics, the Day 1 event won’t be going ahead, and will not be rescheduled for a later date. The show will also not be rebranded, meaning that there will be a two-month gap between Premium Live Events (November’s Survivor Series 2022 to late January’s Royal Rumble 2023.)
Wrestlenomics said that they could not confirm a reason for the cancellation but believed it could be to appease WWE’s business partner NBC Universal. Before this report, some had questioned why tickets for the event had yet to go on sale. WWE has not made any public announcement about the fate of Day 1 2023.
