As many of you have likely seen if you watch any television at all, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been featured in numerous commercials for “Car Shield” in recent months. Following last night’s episode of Dark Side of the Ring, that ad campaign has now been paused due to the allegations made against “The Nature Boy”.
During the “Plane Ride From Hell” episode of Dark Side of the Ring that aired last night, flight attendant Heidi Doyle revealed that a completely naked Ric Flair cornered her in the galley of the plane and harassed her. She claims Flair put her hand on his genitals at one point. Rob Van Dam also confirmed during the episode that he witnessed the incident first hand, which Doyle says went on for at least several minutes. Doyle said that Dustin Runnels (Goldust) eventually had to intervene and get Flair to back off.
Intermedia sent out the following statement regarding the suspension of the ad campaign:
“We take these matters very seriously. As of right now, we are pausing the campaign and we will do our due diligence.”
During a recent appearance on Renee Paquette’s podcast, Ric Flair mentioned the episode of Dark Side of the Ring and said,
“God, I’ve heard about it too. Just when things are going good for me. Listen, you [Renee Paquette] put me on your podcast after. We’ll see how it plays out, because I was there and I don’t care whose name I gotta’ drop if the heat falls on me. I know who was where and what and who and what took place. I know the whole story.”
