WWE SummerSlam 2023 takes place tonight at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, and Ricochet vs. Logan Paul is expected to open the show.

On the “Stay Busy With” podcast, Ricochet shared his thoughts on WWE signing pop-culture celebrities like Paul, and you can check out some highlights below:

On WWE using celebrities: “They’ve always brought in celebrities for years, so it’s nothing new. Anything that’s gonna help the WWE get new fans…I’m for. Not only that but like you said, Logan, [Bad] Bunny, they’ve come in and done some stuff.”

On Bad Bunny & Logan Paul: “They’ve put some work in and shown that they want to do it as much as possible.”

On disliking Logan Paul for being a jerk: “I’m never gonna hate on somebody who’s doing good. … I hate on him because he’s a jerk, and he comes around and he acts like a punk.”

Shayna Baszler will take on Ronda Rousey in an MMA Rules match tonight at WWE SummerSlam 2023 in Detroit, MI.

On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Baszler defended Rousey from her critics and denied the idea that the former UFC champion doesn’t care about pro wrestling.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On people hating on Ronda Rousey: “People love hating Ronda. I think part of it also is Ronda honestly doesn’t care about her image. So she doesn’t care to like paint herself in a way. Everything for most people, especially when you’re a celebrity or whatever, everything, social media, is so curated. It’s not even like, I don’t know, it’s going to be interesting, 10 years after I retire, to come back on a podcast and like, talk about the things that went on behind the scenes.”

On how Rousey has worked hard to improve in the ring: “Who else do you know that, first time she takes a DDT on TV, not so great. All of us have done stuff that like, I don’t know, didn’t turn out so great, we’re like, ‘ah, whatever. Stuff happens. Do it the next time.’ She calls a coach, pays them to come out, and drills this for three weeks straight and now she’s like, arguably, and when you look, she takes like the best DDT of anyone on the roster.”

On Rousey fighting for the women’s division: “I think it’s going to be cool 10 years after I retire or whatever to really tell some of these stories behind the scenes of the way she has fought for the women’s division.”

Baszler also spoke with the “Nerds and Beyond” podcast about her SummerSlam match against Ronda, and you can check out some highlights from the interview below:

On blending MMA rules with wrestling for her SummerSlam match: “Yeah, I think the cool thing for me about it is that it’s been a thing since I started pro wrestling and, if you watch my MMA career, I’m really showing the shared history that pro wrestling and MMA have. They come from the same place and being able to kind of showcase a throwback sort of blend I think is like the coolest thing for me. You see me every time I get in the ring, I like do this like point to the sky on the steps and that’s to one of my coaches, Billy Robinson, he passed away. That’s important to me that I’m carrying the torch. I think I’m excited to to hopefully put a match on that he would truly be like proud of.”

On what a win over Rousey would mean to her: “Look, if I beat Ronda Rousey in a fight, the thing she’s best in the world at, I think everybody’s heads from top of the card to the bottom of the card — I think all of their heads have to turn my way. So I look at this like beating Ronda Rousey will be a new beginning for me. It’s only up from there, and along that path, if there happens to be certain champions there, you know, they’ll get messed up too. So we’ll see.”
