Shane Haste (Shane Thorne/SLAPJACK) Announces “Retirement” From Entertainment

Shane Haste was part of the latest round of WWE budget cuts that ended his WWE stint. The Australian took to Twitter yesterday and posted a video in which he announced that his career in “entertainment” is done, but he will go back to pro wrestling soon.

In his video, which you can see below, Haste said,

“So it’s the end of the year, and the perfect time to reflect, take stock, and maybe think about my future a little bit. As I sit here in this nice place, knowing that I have a wonderful girl and two adorable puppies, I’ve got to say life’s pretty good! The last five years in entertainment have been very good to me. So, I think I’m done. I’m done with that. But now, it’s time to get back to what I do best, and that’s why I’m here to announce that in 2022, I am coming out of retirement and back to the world of professional wrestling.”

Haste worked in WWE as Shane Thorne initially with his longtime tag team partner Nick Miller (Mickey Nicholls) as TM-61, but as Miller went back to Australia he floundered for a while, before joining RETRIBUTION under the name SLAPJACK. Before being fired, he had started working under a crocodile hunter gimmick at WWE live events.
