Former WWE Superstar Shane Helms took to Twitter earlier this week to announce that he recently celebrated the 21st year of the debut of his “Hurricane” Helms gimmick in WWE.
The current WWE producer went on to thank the company. He wrote,
“21 years ago today I donned the cape and ‘mask’ for the first time. Thank you @WWE and thanks for everyone that supported, helped and stood by me through it all. We created something unique.”
Helms later added, “I was told that I was the first solo act under 200 lbs that moved real Merch. Then Rey came in and BOOM, Merch wasn’t just for the big guys anymore.”
