As we reported earlier today here on eWn, WWE has rehired John Laurinaitis to become their head of talent relations. According to a report from Fightful, several WWE Superstars are said to be concerned about Laurinaitis returning to his former role. According to one wrestler, Laurinaitis has always insisted on embracing the WWE Diva type of talents over more solid in-ring wrestlers. There is some concern among the women that he will utilize that line of thinking once again.

Laurinaitis’ duties were previously filled by SVP of Talent Relations, Mark Carrano. Numerous Superstars say Carrano was easy to work with on the surface, but he was also someone who was hard to trust following multiple talents being cut last year due to the pandemic. Due to those cuts, a lot of trust within the company has “eroded.” Some of the wrestlers who were let go back in 2020 were given long-term promises by Carrano, and obviously those promises weren’t kept.

Laurinaitis’ official title will be “General Manager of Talent”. He will report to WWE Executive Vice President of Operations Brad Blum.
