Getting Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to promote Netflix’s Red Notice did not come cheap for the film’s producers.

The 2021 film sees Interpol agent John Hartley (Johnson) team with art thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) to catch the illusive master criminal The Bishop (Gal Gadot).

With its $200 million budget, the film is one of the most expensive Netflix projects in the streaming service’s history.

Variety reports that as part of Johnson’s fee for the film, the Brahma Bull was paid $1 million per post to promote Red Notice on social media.

In addition to this fee, Johnson earned $22 million for his leading role in Red Notice.

Despite a meager 36% on Rotten Tomatoes, a sequel has been green-lit, with Johnson, Reynolds, and Gadot expected to return.
