WWE had hoped to have Roman Reigns vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 39 for a while now. However, it’s not happening.
Earlier this month, it was reported that The Rock has indicated that he won’t have enough time to get into ring shape for the match.
WWE has already confirmed that Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39.
Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that The Rock has left the door open for a match at next year’s WrestleMania 40 pay-per-view event.
