Fans of AEW have probably noticed some interesting vignettes that have been airing in the last few weeks centered around The Elite. The vignettes feature Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) being seemingly erased from AEW. What could be the meaning of these vignettes? AEW President Tony Khan spoke about it in a recent interview.

Sitting down with DAZN, Khan spoke about the segments ahead of tonight’s episode of Dynamite. This will be the go-home show for this weekend’s Full Gear pay-per-view event. When asked about the ‘Delete The Elite’ segments, Khan said the following: “It raises some questions about Death Triangle and what The Elite are trying to say in these videos.” Khan seemingly hinted that The Elite are the ones behind the segments.

The AEW Trios Championships are currently held by Death Triangle, who defeated Best Friends to capture the vacant titles. Initially, The Elite won the belts at All Out 2022, though they were stripped following their suspensions in the aftermath of the post-all Out brawl. It has been reported that The Elite confronted CM Punk and Ace Steel following Punk’s comments in the post-All Out press conference.

Death Triangle will be in action on this week’s show, defending the titles against AR Fox and Top Flight. Speaking about that matchup, Khan said, “Coming out of that [tonight’s match], leading into Full Gear, one of the biggest weeks in wrestling, it’ll be interesting to see where the Trios titles stand. This will be a situation that will be fluid going into Wednesday and coming out of Wednesday.”

AEW Full Gear 2022 will take place this Saturday, November 19th at 8:00 PM EST. It will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will be available live on pay-per-view.
