Triple H is downplaying the reports that there are issues between Drew McIntyre and WWE over pay and creative, which is something multiple people close to Drew flat out deny. The issues surround the pay for a new contract, which expires later this year or early next year. Additionally, McIntyre has been frustrated with his creative direction in the company.
During the post-Money in the Bank 2023 media scrum, “The Game” claimed there are no issues between the two sides and the Scottish Warrior has simply been out of action with an injury. The WWE CCO said,
“It’s also a funny thing, the amount of speculation that happens around things. I read stuff all the time that’s printed and put out there. ‘Sources say.’ 75% of it is completely off base. If Drew had an issue, it’s news to me. He was out with an injury and getting stuff fixed. While he was out, he had something else to get fixed so we did it, and here he is. He’s an amazing performer. He is one of the highlight superstars in this era. Thrilled to have him back and hopefully, he’s here for the rest of his career.”
For those unaware, Drew McIntyre returned to WWE at Saturday’s Money in the Bank 2023 pay-per-view event.
