As you all know by now, a fan blindsided and tackled Seth Rollins during last night’s episode of RAW. According to a report from ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, the New York Police Department arrested 24-year-old Elisah Spencer after the attack. Spencer is being charged with attempted assault and attempted violation of arts and cultural affairs (including the disruption of a live sporting event).
The official police report notes that Rollins refused medical attention following the incident. He was reportedly suffering from some swelling on his upper lip. Once WWE officials got control over the attacker, Rollins was able to walk off under his own power.
WWE issued the following statement on the incident,
“WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
A 24-year-old male has been taken into custody in Brooklyn following an attack on WWE wrestler Seth Rollins during the Raw TV show in Brooklyn, an NYPD spokesperson told ESPN. Charges are pending. No name released yet.
