CHIKARA and Beyond Wrestling Collaborate for “One Day as a Young Lion” Workshop

Huntingdon Valley, PA, March 19, 2012 – CHIKARA and Beyond Wrestling will join forces on Saturday, March 31st to provide fledging professional wrestlers a rare opportunity to learn from “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush. The world-traveled “Master of a Thoursand Holds” will begin the day-long clinic by teaching participants physical mechanics and techniques in the ring. A discussion on self-promotion, character marketability and the value of networking will follow. Next, Quackenbush will field questions from the wrestlers, passing down experience accrued during his near 20-year career. The head trainer of the Chikara Wrestle Factory will then remain ringside while Beyond Wrestling tapes “One Day as a Young Lion” to evaluate and critique the performances. Sendai Girls hit CHIKARA in May!

The long-awaited U.S. debut of joshi superstar Meiko Satomura is upon us!

About ten years ago, a little wrestling organization arrived on the scene to challenge preconceived notions and test the boundaries of our sport. Since then, CHIKARA has shattered gender boundaries, done away with weight classes and made wrestling fun again! All in a decade’s work. No sweat. We even managed to forge relationships with many of the finest wrestling groups around the globe – like Sendai Girls of Japan! Back in December, at our megolithic and overbudgeted JoshiMania event, we had intended to deliver the most in-demand joshi star of the modern age: Meiko Satomura. However, a broken foot wreaked havoc on our plans.

Well, now Satomura is fully-healed, and it is time for her to show fans in the United States exactly why she is so very popular in her homeland. In conjunction with our 10th anniversary events (we’re callin’ it “Aniversario”) we are proud to present the ace of Sendai Girls – Meiko Satomura, as well as three of her finest protégés: DASH Chisako, Kagetsu and Sendai Sachiko!

Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the top stars from Sendai Girls in Japan as they make their United States debut at CHIKARA’s May events in Easton, PA and Manhattan, NY.

NWA Ring Warriors Battle of the Belts Update: Cage Match Out; Russian Chain 4-Corners Weapons Match In!

The feud between NWA National Heavyweight Champion Chance Prophet and the Tokyo Monster Kahagas is no longer confined to the Sunshine State, following the recent backstage incident between the two in Thomasville, NC on an NWA DAWG show (see video: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=2906523938963).

Following the Saturday night St. Patrick’s Day attack, Prophet issued this video statement concerning their March 29th match in Fort Lauderdale at “Battle of the Belts” for NWA Ring Warriors. Originally scheduled for a cage match, Prophet has thrown a monkey wrench into the works by citing his championship prerogative to change the rules without regard to the NWA Executive Director, Board of Directors or local promoters. Claiming a cage match would be too tame for he and Kahagas, Prophet has chose a Russian chain four corners weapons match.

— Extreme Reunion has promised that they will be “making major news today”. Raven also released the following promo for the event…
