On Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Legion of RAW podcast, former WWE head writer Vince Russo discussed WWE bringing back several legends as we inch closer to WrestleMania, as has been the norm over the past number of years.

Russo criticized the promotion for being unable to get talent over and overly relying on stars of the past. He said,

“Bro, I mean, it kind of was in a way, Chris. We’re getting close to WrestleMania and they’re rolling out all the big guns. I mean that’s what we’re talking about. You had Cena, you had Edge, you had Trish, you had Lita. You know, the only one that wasn’t on the show was Brock.”

“But, you know, bro, I’m gonna say this and I feel like I wind up saying this every year. That’s great, bro. And in the next three weeks, if you continue to have all these people on the show, it’ll be great and then what happens the day after WrestleMania? We go right back to nobody who is over.”

While Vince Russo’s claims aren’t baseless and are seconded by fans and critics alike, it is worth acknowledging that the current WWE roster, in regard to being over with the WWE Universe, is in a much better place compared to the past few years, with Superstars such as Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns, The Usos, Seth Rollins, and more for instance.
