At AEW Revolution 2023, Wardlow defeated Samoa Joe to capture the TNT Championship for the second time in his career.
At the post-Revolution media scrum, Wardlow was confronted by the Face Of The Revolution, Powerhouse Hobbs.
During the post-show media scrum, Hobbs walked in, interrupted Wardlow, and said,
“I’ve got a question. I understand you’re champ, but my question to you: what are you gonna do Wednesday when I kick your ass? What are you gonna do Wednesday when you have the shortest title reign, and this becomes mine?”
Hobbs snagged the TNT Championship belt and said,
“Looks pretty good on me, right?”
He then put the title back and continued,
“Wednesday night… Book of Hobbs. Three days, Wardlow. 72 hours. Enjoy.”
Wardlow then declared that Hobbs will have a failed cash-in on Wednesday, similar to how he himself had a failed attempt at cashing in the Face Of The Revolution title shot last year.
