During this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Wardlow would defeat Shawn Spears in a Steel Cage match that kicked off the show. As many of you know, a victory for Wardlow would secure him his match against MJF at this weekend’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view event.
Despite MJF being the special guest referee for the match and clearly favoring Spears, Wardlow was still able to pick up the victory. The finish would come after MJF was knocked out via an accidental chair shot from Spears, resulting in AEW referee Bryce Remsburg entering the cage. With MJF out of the equation, Wardlow was able to secure the 1-2-3 to guarantee his match with the “Salt of the Earth” at Double or Nothing.
