For those wondering (and this should come as no surprise!), it was Vince McMahon who made the call to have Shane McMahon replace the injured Elias (ankle) to face Chad Gable in the main event of WWE SmackDown! Live.
There was also a pitch to have a battle royal but the idea was shot down earlier in the day.
