Ruby Soho and Josh Alexander tore the house down this weekend.

That’s the consensus-reaction coming out of the AAW Unstoppable event at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday night.

The former IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion picked up a victory over the finalist in AEW’s ongoing TBS Women’s Championship Tournament in the intergender main event match that many are calling a late-entrant in the 2021 Match of the Year discussion.

Unstoppable 2021 marked Soho return to AAW five-years to the day after she left the promotion to embark on her journey to WWE, and later, AEW.

Following the match, “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander took to social media to give his thoughts on the match, which he notes “may be his favorite match ever.”

“Had what may be my favorite match ever last night,” wrote ‘The Walking Weapon.’

“[Ruby Soho] requested this match [with] me specifically,” he added. “That meant something to me. This sport means something to me.”

The IMPACT Wrestling veteran concluded, “I’m honored [and] proud of what we created. Ruby Soho is an all-timer.”

Soho hopped on her Twitter page shortly after Alexander released the aforementioned tweet, replying with her thoughts, which included equal praise for her opponent.

“Josh Alexander is my favorite wrestler,” wrote Soho. “It was MY honor to be able to step in the ring with him.”

She added, “I’m still reeling from last night. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Josh!”

Also chiming in on social media to offer high-praise for the Alexander-Soho showdown at Thursday night’s AAW Unstoppable event were Silas Young, AAW commentator Joe Dombrowski and women’s wrestler Jade Chung. Check out their comments, along with the aforementioned posts from Soho and Alexander themselves and some highlights from the bout via the tweets embedded below.
