WWE filed for a trademark on the Starrcade name last Tuesday, July 17th.
For those unaware, WWE used the Starrcade name last December for a “PPV-style” live event in Greensboro, NC. The city of Greensboro was the original home of the event, which was created by Jim Crockett Promotions back in 1983. The event aired as a Thanksgiving night “Super Show”.
Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks are using the name Starrcast, which is obviously very similar to Starrcade, for their convention prior to their “All In” event on September 1st in Chicago, IL.
