Drew Gulak scored a victory over Andre Chase this week on the New Year’s Evil go-home edition of WWE NXT. In the final moments, Gulak snapped and slammed Chase to the bottom ropes before applying the Gu-Lock. The founder of Chase University quickly tapped out but the former Cruiserweight Champion refused to release the hold.

Also on this week’s episode of WWE NXT, Carmelo Hayes defeated Apollo Crews in a match where both men had equal chances of winning. A crucial interference from Trick Williams allowed Hayes to blast a distracted Crews with the facebuster and flying leg drop for the win.
Post-match, Axiom wiped out Williams and Hayes before defeating Williams in the second match of the night.
