The following is our play-by-play coverage of the WWE NXT TakeOver 36 event:
WWE NXT Champion Karrion Kross vs. Samoa Joe
Joe came out strong and hit a series of strikes until Kross caught him. Kross sent him to the floor then into the barricade. Back in the ring, Kross put him into an ankle lock, but Joe rolled out of it. Joe with a head kick then an outside dive. Back in the ring, Kross landed a series of clotheslines then a powerslam.
Joe answered with a powerbomb then the STF. Kross got out of it and Joe hit a belly-to-belly suplex. Joe with a sleeper on Kross, but Kross got out of it and went for the Kross Jacket, but Joe got out of that. Joe with a powerslam then a head kick in the corner. Joe with the muscle buster for the win.
Winner: Samoa Joe
