The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames event:
The cage, with no roof, is lowered and surrounds the two rings. The rings are connected by a metal partition between the two rings. We get the rules and you must win by pin or submission. Eric Young will start for Sanity as Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain enter one of the shark cages near the entrance. Undisputed Era are out and mock Sanity with Adam Cole starting the match. Roderick Strong comes out in Authors of Pain attire and he’ll start for his team.
No alliance to start, but Strong and Young are working a bit against Cole as the five minutes tick away. Cole is keeping Young and Strong in separate rings. He gets both in the same ring and is in control. Undisputed Era have the numbers as Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly enter the match with three minutes. They pick Strong and Young apart; Undisputed Era is using the cage and their speed as AOP enter the match. They try to keep the cage door closed and AOP power through.
AOP toss Undisputed Era into one ring and back body drop Young into the ring. AOP use their partner Strong as a weapon. Strong is left standing with AOP. Wolfe and Dain enter the cage and now the match is official. Wolfe enters and he has a club and he takes AOP out. Dain brings a table, chain, chairs and kendo sticks into the match. The crowd pops for the table as Sanity takes control thanks to the weapons. Dain finally gets in and locks the door. He swallows the key. Senton dropkick combo by Dain onto AOP. Dian with a crossbody off the top rope and he wipes out everyone.
Dain gets into it with Rezar and they trade punches at the center. Akam power slams Dain to slow him down. Everything breaks down. O’Reily uses the chain across Wolfe’s face and goes for a submission. Young breaks it up with an elbow off the top rope. Fish breaks up the pin by Young with a moonsault.
Not sure how, but Dain is bleeding from the head. Young with a death valley driver on Akam. Strong shows why is the master of the back breaker. Huge tower of doom spot from the center with everyone but Cole. AOP are still standing and go for Cole. Instead, AOP set two tables inside one ring. Cole climbs to the top and Wolfe sends an AOP member into one of the tables. Wolfe has a huge gash behind his head and is badly bleeding. Dian to the top rope does coast to coast on O’Reily and a trash can. Strong meets Cole at the top of the cage.
Strong with a suplex off the top of the cage and they take everyone down. Wolfe is still separated and possibly because of the cut on his head. AOP hit last chapter on Dain onto the steel partition. It was botched. It’s back down to Young, Strong and Cole. Young has a chair and Cole with knees to the head for the ending.
Winners: Undisputed Era
