The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE Royal Rumble PPV event in Phoenix, Arizona at Chase Field on the WWE Network:
WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Finn Balor
As soon as the bell rang, Balor hit a running drop kick then a head kick. Balor with a back stomp then a forearm shot. Lesnar caught him and hit a belly-to-belly suplex and then tossed him into the barricade and ring apron. Lesnar cleared the table and was about to suplex him but Balor shoved him into the table. Lesnar with a knee strike to the gut and sent him into the ring. Balor was attacking the gut of Lesnar, who sent him into the corner and landed a series of suplexes.
Balor with a slingblade to Lesnar but went for it a second time, Lesnar caught him with a clothesline. Lesnar continues to sell his side throughout the match. Lesnar went for an F5 but Balor reversed and hit a DDT. Balor with a series of kicks to the gut of Lesnar then an outside dive to take out the champion three times.
Back in the ring, Balor connected with a drop kick in the corner then hit the double foot stomp off the top rope. Lesnar locked in the Kimura for the win.
