It was previously reported that WWE would book a six-woman tag team match featuring Trish Stratus, Lita & Becky Lynch vs. Damage CTRL for WrestleMania 39. This led to the notion that there would be no Women’s Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania since Lita and Lynch are the reigning champions.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that a Women’s Tag Team Title match will happen at WrestleMania 39, with Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler still expected to challenge Lynch and Lita for the gold.

Both the six-woman tag team match and the Women’s Tag Team Championship defense are currently scheduled for WrestleMania 39 with Lynch and Lita working both nights.

There have been reports that Rousey is currently dealing with a legitimate injury, as she appeared on last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown in a sling. The injury, which is believed to be a hairline fracture, was aggravated by Rousey in a training session. This forced WWE to keep her out of action for a little while.

However, it is unclear how much Rousey will be able to recover by WrestleMania 39. Despite the uncertainty, it seems that plans for Rousey and Baszler to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Titles are still in place. As of the middle of this week, WWE believed that Rousey would be fit enough to compete.
