There has been some frustration among WWE talent regarding The Rock’s use of adult language in his promos.
Recently, a memo was sent out by top executives reminding talent to keep things PG, despite The Rock’s return to using non-PG language. Fans were expecting Cody Rhodes to deliver a more edgy promo ahead of his WrestleMania tag team match on Monday’s edition of RAW, which is something he did.
During today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez revisited Rhodes’ promo from Monday’s episode of RAW. Meltzer mentioned that WWE believed Rhodes needed to respond to The Rock in an edgier way, hence allowing him to deliver such a promo. However, the directive to maintain PG language in promos remains intact for other wrestlers.
