Ilja Dragunov is said to be “okay” following his match with Trick Williams at Sunday night’s WWE NXT: Vengeance Day pay-per-view event.
In the main event of the show, Dragunov defeated Williams to retain the NXT World Title. At one point during the match, Dragunov took a uranage to the floor from the apron in a scary-looking spot.
While there was some concern from fans online that Dragunov may have suffered an injury, Fightful Select is reporting that Ilja was doing just fine after the match.
Additionally, it was said that the rehearsals for the main event were kept to those who were directly involved in putting it together. The idea was to prevent the Carmelo Hayes turning on Trick Williams news from leaking in advance.
Finally, it was added that Shawn Michaels and Matt Bloom were said to have had a lot of praise for the WWE NXT Women’s Championship match, especially as it pertains to their booking of Lola Vice. The WWE NXT World Championship main event also received high praise.
