Reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has boldly declared that he will be the greatest to ever hold the coveted title.
GUNTHER captured the title in June of 2022 with a victory over Ricochet and boasts the longest reign in Intercontinental Championship history.
Speaking after his title defense over Kofi Kingston on this week’s episode of WWE RAW, GUNTHER made his bold declaration. He said,
“Listen to this! Kofi fought hard, Kofi fought with courage. [The] only issue is, nobody’s perfect. But I’m damn close. I will forever be the greatest and longest-reigning Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion of all time.”
If GUNTHER can hold the title until the end of next month, he will break the record for the longest combined days as Intercontinental Champion.
The late Pedro Morales held the title for a combined 619 days over his two reigns. Today marks GUNTHER’s 599th day as WWE Intercontinental Champion.
