There is a situation regarding the backlash of the disappearance of Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi, who was a Saudi Arabian national who had been critical of aspects of the country in his reporting.

This major story making headlines in the mainstream news outlets about Khashoggi being in Turkey at the time of his disappearance. Khashoggi entered a Saudi Arabian consulate to pick up paperwork that would allow him to re-marry and has not been seen since. The consulate is claiming that he left their property and that his fiancee was waiting outside, but that he never returned to her.

As a result, there have been several companies who have events with ties to Saudi Arabia either cancel their events or push them back to a later date.

WWE released a statement to the media regarding the status of WWE Crown Jewel, saying, “We are currently monitoring the situation.”
