WWE RAW (9/25/2023)

Cody Rhodes opens the show wanting to talk about Jey Uso. Him coming to Raw, means someone has to go to SmackDown. It means a disgruntled locker room, but he’s not one to Jey sink. They aren’t best friends, but maybe there are other reasons he wants Jey Uso on Raw. Regardless, he wasn’t going to stand by and get jumped by three others for not joining the Judgment Day.

Out come the Judgment Day, who ask why Cody has to stick his nose in their business. Last week, they offered Jey Uso a family, but he had to get involved. Dominik Mysterio tries to say something, but is traditionally and mercilessly booed. Cody Rhodes says Dom has a real family and they can’t stand him. He asks the Judgment Day what happens if Mami comes back and finds them empty handed (after losing all their titles). Judgment Day don’t like the sound of that, so they stop talking. Jey Uso pops up to back Cody.

Just as Judgment Day are about to enter the ring, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn appear from the crowd. With a 4-on-3 disadvantage, they backpaddle. JD McDonagh appears from the back with some steel chairs. Damian Priest doesn’t like that idea, but the rest go for it and get immediately jumped on. Priest feels he has no choice but to follow, and ends up on the receiving end of a 4-man mugging. Not a good start to the night for the Judgment Day.

#1. Bronson Reed vs. Otis (w/ Maxxine Dupri) – Winner: Bronson Reed

Tegan Nox is looking for an opportunity, but Natalya swoops in to get another. It gets heated, so Adam Pearce tells them to go to the ring to sort this out.

#2. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Ludwig Kaiser (w/ Imperium) – Winner: Tommaso Ciampa

NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is on hand to watch the next match from commentary.

#3. Tegan Nox vs. Natalya – Winner: Tegan Nox

Damian Priest is upset. He tells JD McDonagh to get out of the Judgment Day’s room.

Seth Rollins asks the crowd to sing his song if they are sick of Shinsuke Nakamura dodging him. If they think it is time for him to defend his title, sing it louder. He asks Shinsuke Nakamura to answer the call.

He does, but only via video package. Nakamura accepts the challenge under one condition. Last Man Standing. The World Champion likes the idea. Shinsuke has played this perfectly, but he has made one critical mistake. You see, he thinks that his broken back is a weakness.

He thinks he will exploit this weakness by beating him so bad that his daughter will be ashamed to look at him. But this broken back is not a weakness. For him, it’s a strength. And the only way his family will be ashamed is if he doesn’t give every little thing he’s got. They know he loves them, but they also know he loves this. His 100% makes him the best in the world and the World Heavyweight Champion. If he wants to get crazy, only one of them is walking out of there, but it won’t be him. It will be Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.

Backstage, Ricochet is shown to be using crutches. When he recovers, he will be coming for Shinsuke Nakamura.

#4. [NXT North American Championship] Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Dragon Lee – Winner: Dominik Mysterio retains with the Frog Splash

Michael Cole gets a word with Nia Jax, who tells everyone she is Nia Jax, the baddest human in WWE. She squashed Rhea Ripley, and Shayna Baszler. Zoey Stark? Squashed. Raquel Rodriguez? Squashed. Piper Niven? Squashed. Do you know why? Because she is the baddest human… and she is interrupted by Zoey Stark. They begin brawling and referees rush in to get between them, but they don’t make it look easy.

#5. Nia Jax vs. Zoey Stark – Winner: Nia Jax

We have Miz TV with Drew McIntyre. The Miz agrees with Drew for leaving Jey Uso to the mercy of the Judgment Day. McIntyre says he is nothing like The Miz. He reminds Drew about how he won the title, lost the title, and then couldn’t win the title at Clash At The Castle, because of The Bloodline. McIntyre says karma’s a bitch. The Miz asks how he feels about Cody Rhodes upstaging him last week. Before he can answer, The New Day interrupt the segment.

Kofi Kingston says the Drew McIntyre he knows isn’t a coward. They have been calling him Big D for a few years, but it seems there has been some shrinkage. McIntyre says The New Day didn’t come out to save Jey Uso, and neither did anyone else. Only Cody Rhodes did. Kofi says he should have saved him. Drew reminds them of all the times Jey Uso cost them title shots as part of The Bloodline. Through all this, The Miz keeps trying to talk, but McIntyre tells him to shut up. He does it one too many times, so McIntyre headbutts Miz in the face.

#6. Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston (w/ Xavier Woods) – Winner: Drew McIntyre*

*Ivar attacked Xavier Woods, distracting Kofi Kingston enough to give McIntyre the opportunity for a Claymore.

Ivar takes out The New Day while Drew McIntyre walks to the backstage area. Meanwhile, backstage, Gunther tells off Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser. From now on, Vinci is Kaiser’s responsibility. Gunther will take care of his own responsibility as the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion, by defeating Tommaso Ciampa by himself.

#7. [Undisputed Tag Team Championship] Judgment Day’s Finn Balor & Damian Priest (c) vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn – Winners: Judgment Day with assists from Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh*

*Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso did their best to equalize the interference, but it was not enough. JD McDonagh hit Sami Zayn with the title belt so Damian Priest could pick up the win.
