Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE programming for those who may have missed out.
Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the breaking news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.
Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.
With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.
MONDAY NIGHT RAW
- The show opened with Triple H cutting a promo that Randy Orton interrupted and then challenged him to a fight. That was the main event.
- Lacey Evans defeated Charlotte Flair by pinfall due to interference from Ric Flair, who actively helped Evans win.
- Jaxson Ryker beat Jeff Hardy by pinfall. Then, Hardy beat Elias by pinfall.
- Keith Lee and Sheamus defeated John Morrison and The Miz by pinfall. But Sheamus and Lee argued after the match and that led to a match between the two, which Lee won. Then, they hugged each other.
- Drew McIntyre accepted Goldberg’s challenge for a WWE Championship match at Royal Rumble.
- T-Bar defeated Xavier Woods by pinfall.
- Bobby Lashley defeated Matt Riddle by submission to retain the United States Championship. After the match, Riddle challenged MVP to a match and beat him by DQ when Lashley speared him.
- Drew Gulak intended to announce he is in the Royal Rumble, but Adam Pearce told him he’d have to earn it by beating AJ Styles, which he failed to do. Styles won by pinfall.
- Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler defeated Sexy Muscle Friends by submission.
- Randy Orton vs Triple H concluded with the lights flickering out, Alexa Bliss replacing Triple H in the ring and shooting a fireball at Orton.
NXT
- Candice LeRae defeated Shotzi Blackheart by pinfall.
- Finn Balor is out for a promo. He spoke about retaining the NXT title against Kyle O’Reilly. Pete Dunne then came out—accompanied by Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan—to talk about how he’s going to take the belt from him. They beat down Balor until The Undisputed ERA made the save.
- Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Round 1 Match: Grizzled Young Veterans defeated Ever-Rise by pinfall.
- Shotzi Blackheart will team with Ember Moon in the women’s version of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.
- Johnny Gargano defeated Dexter Lumis by pinfall.
- Wade Barrett mediated a confrontation between Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher about their upcoming Fight Pit match.
- Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Round 1 Match: MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) defeated Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and Jake Atlas by pinfall.
- Toni Storm and Mercedes Martinez will also team in the women’s tournament next week against Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter.
- Xia Li defeated Valentina Feroz by pinfall in a complete squash.
- Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Round 1 Match: Adam Cole and Roderick Strong defeated Breezango by pinfall.
MAIN EVENT
- Angel Garza defeated Akira Tozawa
- Slapjack defeated Humberto Carrillo
NXT UK
- Joe Coffey defeated Ed Harvey by pinfall. Harvey, mid-match, got a microphone and said he wasn’t Ed Harvey, but Sha Samuels, so they referred to him as both names.
- Sid Scala told Pretty Deadly they’ll fight South Wales Subculture, The Hunt and Oliver Carter & Ashton Smith in a Fatal 4-Way No. 1 contender’s match in two weeks.
- Dave Mastiff was working out at the Performance Center and had some words with Rampage Brown.
- Tyler Bate defeated Sam Gradwell by pinfall.
- Ilja Dragunov challenged Jack Starz to a match as he wants to start over from the first person he fought in NXT UK.
- Jinny (with Joseph Conners) cut a promo about how she’s going to win the NXT UK Women’s Championship. This prompted Kay Lee Ray to come out to say she’ll retain.
- WALTER retained the NXT UK Championship over A-Kid by pinfall.
FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN
- Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Jey Uso by pinfall.
- Natalya defeated Liv Morgan by pinfall.
- King Corbin defeated Rey Mysterio by pinfall.
- Bayley hosted the first edition of her new talk show, “Ding Dong, Hello” with Bianca Belair as her guest.
- Cesaro defeated Daniel Bryan by pinfall.
- Sasha Banks told Carmella she’ll get a title shot so long as Banks is able to fight Reginald first.
- Apollo Crews defeated Sami Zayn by pinfall.

- Legado Del Fantasma defeated The Bollywood Boyz to advance to the next round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.
- Killian Dain and Drake Maverick defeated Curt Stallion and August Grey to advance to the next round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.
