Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE programming for those who may have missed out.

Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the breaking news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.

Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.

With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW

  • Bobby Lashley and MVP started the show talking about how they don’t owe Goldberg or his son an apology. Damian Priest came out to say that’s bullshit and challenged Lashley to a match. Priest defeated Lashley by disqualification after Sheamus interfered and attacked the new United States champion. Drew McIntyre made the save and fought off Sheamus and Lashley to help Priest. That led to a tag team match where Lashley walked out on Sheamus, allowing McIntyre and Priest to win by pinfall.
  • Eva Marie attacked Doudrop to get back at her for SummerSlam.
  • Karrion Kross defeated Ricochet by submission.
  • Logan Paul was John Morrison’s guest on Moist TV. The fans booed Paul incessantly, even when he said he was more of a New Day fan. More tension between The Miz and John Morrison. Xavier Woods then defeated The Miz by pinfall. Afterward, The Miz turned on Morrison and attacked him.
  • Reggie was able to evade losing the 24/7 Championship in part from giving ice cream to Akira Tozawa and R-Truth as a distraction.
  • Mansoor defeated Jinder Mahal by disqualification when The Modern Day Maharaja refused to heed the referee’s five-count.
  • Charlotte Flair touted her success and said she doesn’t need friends or family or the WWE Universe. All she needs is the Raw Women’s Championship. Now that she’s a 12x champion, she’s here to restore order to the division. It’s time a real woman held the title and made everyone remember what it was like to be proud to watch Monday Night Raw.
  • Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley defeated Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler by pinfall.
  • Riddle’s RK-Bro celebration for himself and Randy Orton winning the Raw Tag Team Championship was interrupted by AJ Styles and Omos, who intend to get their titles back.
  • Riddle defeated AJ Styles by pinfall.

NXT

  • The show opened with the celebration from Cameron Grimes and Ted DiBiase about how Grimes won the Million Dollar Championship at TakeOver 36. DiBiase touted Grimes as being the man worthy of carrying on his legacy because he’s talented in the ring and he’s also sound of heart. Grimes thanked DiBiase for getting him back on track. Now, they’re going going tooooo theeee mooooooooon.
  • Ridge Holland defeated Timothy Thatcher by pinfall. After the match, Holland, Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and a returning Danny Burch beat down Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa.
  • The wedding between Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis will be Tuesday, September 14th.
  • Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter defeated Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne by pinfall.
  • Interview: Raquel Gonzalez spoke about TakeOver, retaining her title and the appearance by Kay Lee Ray. The interview was interrupted by Franky Monet, Robert Stone and Jessi Kamea. Monet said she should be the next in line, rather than another chance for Dakota Kai or Kay Lee Ray.
  • Kay Lee Ray defeated Valentina Feroz by pinfall.
  • Dolin and Jayne were approached by Mandy Rose, who offered that if they join her, they won’t keep losing like they just did.
  • Samoa Joe asked who would have the guts to step up to him and challenge him now that he’s champion. Pete Dunne came out, followed by LA Knight, followed by Kyle O’Reilly, who was attacked by Holland. Dunne was then jumped by Ciampa, who was taken out by Holland, too. Knight fought with Joe, but the champion knocked him out of the ring with a headbutt. Joe and Ciampa were left in the ring, mostly with Joe standing tall holding the title.
  • Backstage, Grimes gave the Million Dollar Championship back to DiBiase and said it is his legacy and it belongs to him. DiBiase gave it back to him, but he switched it with a replica. That damn Ted DiBiase.
  • Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell approached Kyle O’Reilly for an interview, but Duke Hudson attacked O’Reilly. They had to be separated by officials.
  • NXT Breakout Tournament Finals: Carmelo Hayes defeated Odyssey Jones by pinfall to earn a title opportunity of his choosing.
  • Xyon Quinn defeated Boa by pinfall.
  • Johnny Gargano tried to get William Regal to cancel the InDex wedding. LA Knight interrupted, trying to get a match against Samoa Joe. Regal told both Knight and Gargano to leave.

  • The show opened with a Becky Lynch promo that was interrupted by Bianca Belair, Zelina Vega, Carmella and Liv Morgan all looking for a title shot. Becky said not tonight and the four others all fought, setting up a Fatal 4-Way elimination match to determine the No. 1 contender. Zelina Vega was eliminated first, followed by Carmella, followed by Liv Morgan, so Belair is the rightful contender as expected.
  • Cesaro defeated Chad Gable by disqualification after Otis interfered.
  • Baron Corbin has earned his money back and is now going by the moniker Happy Corbin. Corbin offered to buy Big E’s Money in the Bank contract, but Big E declined.

Finn Balor interrupted to challenge Reigns to a title match for next week. Balor went after Reigns and The Usos turned it into a three-on-one affair until The Street Profits helped out Balor.
