It has been announced that Prince Devitt has officially sent out a notice for his resignation from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The Chairman of NJPW, Naoki Sugabayashi, has officially revealed that Prince Devitt has received a proposal of resignation from Devitt. Sugabayashi stated that he is willing to continue negotiations with Devitt and hopes that a relationship between the two parties can be continued in the future. Though at this time it Devitt has stated that his match at Ryogoku is his “last show”.

Sugabayashi stated that he will honor Devitt’s request if that is indeed what he wishes to do, but negotiations do indeed to still be open as well.

Of course the rumor at this time is that Devitt could very well be in WWE bound in the near future, but still nothing more a rumor at this time. Realistically everything is more or less closed for Devitt to move on from New Japan as he has done it all, from the top to the bottom, in the promotion over the last 8 years. Then with this last match against Taguchi at INVASION ATTACK the door has been closed on that rivalry and potentially opened for a reunion of Apollo55 if it comes down to it.
At this time I have no real facts to share with you all on Devitt’s future, but I guess we will see what happens in due time.
