The full roster list for WWE 2K24 is out, and at a glance, a few notable names are missing. Obviously, the two biggest omissions everyone is talking about are Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon due to the ongoing lawsuit. Those are no-brainers.
But the more I looked at this list, the more I started to pick up on some other names that aren’t on the official lineup. A few of those make perfect sense, many due to their status as a fresh NXT talent that few fans would even recognize are not included. Some are new signings that came after the game had long been in development and clearly would have been in the game if there were more time to scan them. But there are some others that leave me scratching my head.
All in all, when cross-referencing the official 2K list with my own WWE Roster List, I came up with a whopping 70 names NOT listed on 2K’s website.
Let’s break them down into categories and call attention to some surprises and some not-so-shocking absentees.
These people are big enough names that they would definitely be in the game if they had been part of the roster earlier. I imagine that’s the only reason they’re not on the lineup.
With some of them, they could certainly be DLC additions later on. Others might not get that distinction and may have to wait until 2K25.
These WWE Superstars aren’t in a prominent enough position that their lack of inclusion is astonishing, but it is rather odd. All things considered, there are Superstars who have had as much or even less exposure and been in the company a shorter time frame who are in the game, but these aren’t.
Boa, Dante Chen and Guru Raaj stand out to me as 3 guys from NXT that would be on the above section, if it wasn’t so obvious how little WWE values them.
They are perpetually only used if they need a jobber and can’t get any of the other talent. You NEVER see them in any other capacity. Frankly, at this point, you don’t even see them at all anymore, really. When’s the last time you even saw Guru Raaj lose on something like NXT Level Up?
Granted, most people don’t even care about the bigger NXT names or the people who are on the lower end of the Raw and SmackDown rosters, so it’s not like there’s going to be a groundswell of support to get someone like Boa in 2K24. But it’s still got to be disheartening to see that you’ve been in NXT for several years and WWE thinks so poorly of you that you aren’t worth getting scanned for the game.
This is just one of many indicators that they’re signed to contracts to be crash test dummies and not actual WWE Superstars at this point.
Here is a list of newer NXT Superstars who have made their debuts relatively recently, or they’ve only done a little amount of on-screen stuff to the point that it’s unrealistic WWE and 2K would have spent the resources and time and effort in putting them in the game.
But for the sake of just listing everyone (outside of the NIL athletes, of course), here are the remainders who are missing from the official 2K24 roster page:
