5) “Assuming Braun Strowman retains the intercontinental title, who should be his challenger for WrestleMania?”
MANGO: It has to be either Sheamus or King Corbin.
STAPLE: Sheamus. It’s the only title preventing him from becoming a Grand Slam Champion and he’s shown to be a heel that doesn’t fear anyone. Much better than throwing around Nakamura and Cesaro for weeks on end.
MITCHELL: If Strowman retains against three names that honestly should all be huge names in the WWE, I’m not sure who he would face. Even a new addition to SmackDown might not be enough. Strowman may have to defend the Intercontinental Championship against multiple opponents, such as a Ladder Match.
HIRSCH: My wildcard pick for that would be courtesy of my 11 year old nephew, which I have to agree with, is Sheamus. I don’t see him going into the Andre the Giant Battle Royal or be omitted from the Mania card (including preshow). I hope that doesn’t leave Nakamura out in the cold.
BRADLEY: His former tag team partner Nicholas
SARPRAICONE: Sheamus.
ABSLER: I think Sheamus would be a solid opponent for Strowman. The match would be physical and Sheamus could definitely take Strowman to his limit. Both have been booked very strong so it would be a fun collision to watch.
COOK: See, if he beats Shinsuke, Cesaro & Sami all in one match, there’s no reason any of those guys should get a title shot at WrestleMania. Sucks for them, but that’s the only logical conclusion. You need somebody big against Braun to make it look like there’s a chance of the title changing hands, and I recall Sheamus mentioning during a recent interview that he wants to be Intercontinental Champion because he hasn’t done it before. You could even align him with the other three guys considering his history with Cesaro.
