2) “Should WWE have had Roman Reigns win an Elimination Chamber match, as originally intended, or is it better they just skipped to announcing him against Goldberg?”

MANGO: They absolutely should have had Reigns win an Elimination Chamber. Not only was Baszler winning an even bigger foregone conclusion, which defeats the argument that they didn’t need to do that match, it’s also showing preferential treatment to Reigns. Considering all the backlash he’s gotten in his career for being “the guy”, they shouldn’t mess with doing things that point in that direction and risk the fans booing.

STAPLE: I personally don’t mind that they just went straight to it, but I wish they could have done more than Roman just coming out and saying he’s next. WrestleMania matches should be more than just you coming out and saying we’re gonna fight.

MITCHELL: Logic would dictate that they gave the men a Universal Championship contender’s Chamber as has been in the past, but then WWE would find themselves in a copy-and-paste of the Raw Women’s Chamber. Naming Roman immediately frees up space on the Chamber card, which of course is filled by the SmackDown Tag Team Chamber.

HIRSCH: It looks like that the company has solved that problem, as there isn’t no Elimination Chamber match for the men now. Having Reigns outright challenge Goldberg was the right call in that case.

BRADLEY: It’s better that they announced him ahead of time. If he’s in the Chamber, he’s winning and there goes all the drama. A match needs drama, not Reigns.

SARPRAICONE: With the line-up they had, would’ve been too predictable, especially with Braun in it.

ABSLER: I like how WWE has just skipped to announcing Reigns vs Goldberg. While I am not a fan of Roman Reigns, or 2020 Goldberg, having Reigns win a Chamber match would have been the second predictable winner of the night.

COOK: We already have one Chamber match on this show that’s a foregone conclusion. Why do we need another one? The Big Dog was going to run through the field to win that match because it was the right move for business and the most believable outcome. Nobody in their right mind gave Baron Corbin or Bobby Roode or anybody other than Roman any chance of winning the match. You can’t argue against the idea that he’s a deserving challenger. Some out there are wondering “Well, why did Drew McIntyre have to win the Royal Rumble to get a title shot when Roman just went out and asked for one?”. Simple: Brock Lesnar isn’t in the business of handing out title shots. He’d be perfectly happy if he never defended his title again, especially against competition like McIntyre. Goldberg is the type to accept challenges because he’ll take on anybody. Roman knows that just like we all do. Why wouldn’t he take advantage of it?
