Well This article is titled “Is Vince McMahon to Blame for Wrestling Deaths” This article is going to reveal people and the medias prejudice against the WWE and its principal Owner “Vince McMahon”.

Lets look at the list of wrestlers who have passed away that the media blames WWE for.

Curt Henning

Johnny Grudge

Rocko Rock

Rick Rude

Davey Boy Smith

Test

Bam Bam Bigelow

Crash Holly

Mike Awesome

there are plenty more but some of the wrestlers that are listed who the media and people like to blame WWE for, died from a freak accident, sicknesses or old age. So these men have all wrestled for the WWE but lets look at these men.

Curt Henning was a WWE main stay in the late 80’s and early 90’s, but Henning had moved on to WCW in 1997 after having a manger role in WWE around 1996…. Henning had stood in WCW for awhile, Almost 4 years as a active wrestler…… Henning had a brief 5 month stint in WWE in 2002. WWE had fired Henning for being intoxicated on a plane ride. Henning would spend the remainder of his career in TNA, Dying a month after his last TNA match…… So in almost 8 years Curt Henning worked 5 months for WWE. How can the WWE be blamed for Hennings demons, After the WWE fired Henning for being intoxicated and probably under the influence of drugs?. WWE only had Henning in the company for a short time. Henning was in WCW for 4 years, Why wasn’t Turner sports blamed? Why wasn’t TNA blamed, he was wrestling in their company when he died.

Johnny Grudge and his tag team partner Rocko Rock had spent most of their careers in ECW and WCW. WWE hired the public enemy for 60 days and fired them….Rocko Rock would spend time in the indys and die 3 years later and Grudge died 7 years later after working Indys……….. So they were only in WWE for 60 days but McMahon and the WWE come under fire by the media for these two mens death?. Why? if I worked for Walmart for 60 days and died 5 years later should Walmart be blamed for my death?.

Mike Awesome died of suicide, The reason for his suicide was his wife asked him for a divorce and he got angry and a fight broke out and Mike Awesome went to prison. While he was in prison for that day, His wife informed him that she had taken everything of value and all their money and his children. His wife had also destroyed everything he had owned. Awesome walked in to a empty home with nothing and no money and decided to killed himself……………. This death was not wrestling or drug related, So how was the WWE or McMahon to blame? Mike Awesome only worked for WWE for a year. he was long retired from prowrestling when he hung himself.

Rick Rude passed away from a overdose. Rude who was in WWE in the late 80’s, but to be honest Rude has not been a active wrestler in the WWE in 9 years before his death. Rude had a very short stint as a manager but the majority of his career was in WCW. Rude even died on WCWs watch. So why wasnt the well respected Turner sports attacked for Rudes overdose? Why the WWE?.

Bam Bam Bigelow died 12 years after his last WWE stint. During that 12 years Bigelow had worked in WCW for several years and worked the indy scene til his death in 2007. For some reason his death was McMahons fault.

How can you blame a company or a owner for that matter for people who died long after they were employed?…. WWE is the only big company I know that is willing to pay for former talents rehab. WWE is the only entertainment company that has a strict drug testing policy, No studio, Record Label or any other form of entertainment does.

I see how the media berates WWE and how people blame Vince McMahon for the deaths and misfortune of the people who once worked for him. But why when a musician dies or a actor dies is the studio or labels blamed for the deaths of their employees? It seems these companys don’t get questioned for not testing performers. Lets take a look at some people in entertainment that have passed away.

Richard Shannon Hoon

Richard Hoon was the lead singer of Blind Melon. Hoon who had a substance problem and was in and out of rehab. Hoon who checked himself out of rehab to tour and promote the bands latest album released by Capital records. Hoon brought a drug counselor with him on tour but the road proved too much and the counselor couldn’t control him and he was fired and 2 days later Hoon was found dead.

Why was Hoon, who was in the middle of rehab removed from rehab and put on tour?. The worst place for someone with a drug problem to be is on the road partying. Why wasn’t Capital Records not held accountable for Hoons death? They removed him from rehab and the counselor was removed because he couldn’t control Hoon and nothing was done. They didn’t remove him from the tour? they did nothing. but the media didn’t seem to blame the record label for checking Hoon out of rehab to tour.

Kurt Cobain

Kurt Cobain had overdosed while on tour and had multiple problems and the Record Label knowing Cobain was unstable and had multiple substance problems allowed him to tour and did nothing to help Cobain with his drug problem and mental depression. Why was the Label not blamed for Cobains death, He died on their watch while contracted to them.

Amy Whinehouse

Amy Whinehouse died from consuming too much alcohol at the age of 27. Amy Whinehouse was well known for her substance problems but not only did her label “Universal Republic” not do anything about it but they profited off the publicity and also celebrated her problems by releasing the song rehab. Why is WWE and Vince McMahon blamed for performers dying years after being in the WWE but Universal Republic Records was not accountable by people or the media for Whinehouses death?.

They were plenty of entertainers that have died on set or under contract to a label or a studio. I can go on with the Heath Ledgers or Phillip Seymour Hoffmans and the many more performers that have passed away from drug problems and the problematic lifestyle of always traveling and being away from loved ones.

The issue here is WWE has a drug program in place and even offering rehab to former employees and are still looked at as evil and slammed anytime former employee dies but Hollywood or the music industry has not put any drug programs in place, but are praised by the media and never questioned…. Is the media really worried about peoples lives? why isn’t anyone pushing for Record labels and studios to drug test all actors or musicians under contract. They get huge insurance policys in case one of their talent dies during production or touring so they wont take a loss but why aren’t they looking out for the well being of their performers?. Why isnt the media questioning this?….. It sickens me how people look so down on prowrestling and how its not given fair treatment when tragedy strikes.

The media seems to be ok with wrestling for now but when another wrestler dies young then that will all go out the window and we are back to violent roided freaks that work for a evil company.
